Joseph Conrad: more information
Youth is a work of epic prose on the enthusiasm, mindset and mistakes of youth.
In Youth, Conrad has his anti-hero Marlow narrate the story. Marlow also narrated the story in Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
Though I studied this long short story in my teens, there was seemingly no impact on the foolish of my early 20s. On the other hand, I will never know what my foolishness would have been had I not had the good fortune of studying Youth when at high school.
I commend Conrad's Youth to young and mature alike for self-reflection and to help understand others better.
